The archaeological Museum of Gazi- Malevizi, is located in the center of Gazi town, 5 km. east of Heraklion. The museum is incorporated in the city Hall building in Gazi and displays approx. 500 ancient objects from a private collection (Metaxas) and from various excavations around. The first time ever displayed rare objects, reveal the way of every day’s activities, cult and occupation of the ancient populations of the last 5000 years. Among the exhibits are clay and stone vases of all different periods, jewelry made of gold and various other metals and materials, bronze utensils and weapons, clay sarcophagi and many more.
